Services

Burke's Academy, high-quality childcare learning center, is an organization where we strive to Exceed Developmental Milestones. We offer the lowest weekly tuition rate with the most benefits in all of Lebanon! Burke's Academy is also the only childcare center that offers extended hours in all of Wilson County with Drop-In services.  We provide nutritious, colorful meals and snacks around the clock that promotes growth and brain development, top-notch safety and security, on-site nursing care and an abundance of parental support to our families and the community!

We are committed to providing HIGH QUALITY childcare services that promote the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of each child in our care here at Burke's Academy. Burke’s Academy is Lebanon's one and only Drop-In Center, available only on Saturdays, between 9 am and 7 pm.

  • The most fundamental stage in our life. We develop through experiences utilizing our 5 senses - sight, smell, sounds, touch and taste
  • In our infant's lecture room, supplementary nourishments and affection are met by providing consistent care and reliability.
  • Our curriculum emphasizes mostly on Gross Motor and Literacy Skills, such as tummy time, grasping large items in hands, encouragements of movement, and language development using storytime and American Sign Language.

  • During this stage, toddlers beseech the sense of self-control, independency and the need to exercise free will.
  • Our lecture room expose our toddlers to the realm of creativity and understanding emotions, along with introducing cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Our curriculum emphasizes mostly on Autonomy, Fine Motor and Socio-Emotional Skills, such as improving self-help skills, independent tasks, pincer grasp, sharing, taking turns and potty training!

  • Our preschoolers condone the sense of purpose. Taking on roles, either pretend in dramatic play or assigned classroom duties such as line leader or setting the table. 
  • In this stage, we aim to build peer interactions, positive relationships and confidence, such as reading aloud to the class, practicing global languages, and participating in show & tell and large group activities.
  • We love asking: who? what? when? where? why? and how? We emphasize mostly on Cognitive Skills, Literacy and Mathematics Skills. Expanding our vocabulary, phonological awareness, in-depth context of storytelling, categorizing, understanding patterns and sequence, measuring objects and performing countless explorations!

  • Our Pre-K scholars focus on Kindergarten Readiness and all 9 of the Academic Domains that aligns with Tennessee's standards. This is preceded with immense focus on Socio-Emotional Skills (problem solving, interpreting and controlling emotions, self-awareness), Literacy Skills (phonics, word recognition, communication and writing skills), hands-on S.T.E.A.M. activities and structured weekly home studies.
  • Our lecture rooms stimulate curiosity, builds character and resilience, increases self-esteem, embarks new challenges and is endowed with individualized support to prepare them for the future.

  • Autism, or ASD, Burke's Academy work alongside each child's therapist to assist with behavioral challenges, social communication, and help overcome triggers using neurodiversity-affirming techniques. 
  • With a nurse on-site, care is readily available for children with medical challenges (portable feeding bags, ostomy, etc.).

  • School-agers and homeschooler's care available only after 6pm.
  • We encourage play-based learning. Afterhours curriculum is less strict, more child-centered for all ages and individualized to fit his or her developmental needs.
  • 5-12 year olds will engage in extracurricular activities:

    • keyboard typing & cursive handwriting

are bright and animated to allow children's imagination to run wild & free and to openly express their creativity. Our learning curriculum uses the whole-child approach, equipped with Montessori-inspired materials, interactive S.T.E.A.M. activities and is encompassed by both Erik Erikson's Psychosocial and Jean Piaget's Cognitive Development Theories.

How Do We STAND OUT?

Education

  • Our evidence-based, whole-child approach curriculum not only guarantees academic success, but also engages in curiosity and creativity. 
  • We utilize an observational tool to assess each child's academic and developmental progress to help steer and keep them on track. Feedback and goals are discussed in-depth during our biannual parent-teacher conferences.
  • Our lesson plans include the nine academic domains - literacy, mathematics, fine & gross motors, cognitive, science & technology, socio-emotional, language & communication, and creative arts, all aligned with Tennessee's Standards for Kindergarten Readiness.
  • Our lecture rooms allow our children to be open-minded, express their creativity, discover and explore the unknown, and, most importantly, to be themselves.
  • Electives such as yoga, American Sign Language, Spanish and other global languages, literacy counseling, nature-based outdoor adventure - and so much more - are all inclusive in the weekly tuition!

Extended Hours

  • Burke's Academy is the only childcare center in all of Wilson County with extended hours childcare services!
  • Hours has been extended to accommodate first responders and healthcare professionals, families working evening shifts or those looking for a Mom's Day Out Program. 
  • Afterhours curriculum is less strict, more child-centered for all ages and individualized to fit his or her developmental needs. 
  • We provide nutritious and fulfilling evening meals and snacks
  •  Full or part-time spots available. Drop-In Saturdays 9am - 7pm, closing 9pm

Meet your Director

Domanique Burke, B.A., LPN

Domanique Burke is the Co-Owner, alongside husband Brandon Burke, and the Program Director of Burke's Academy, High-Quality Childcare Center. She also serves as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and a BLS, CPR & First Aid Instructor. Enriched with experiences in Early Childhood Education, Mrs. Burke earned her Bachelor's of Arts in Human Ecology & Education, majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences from The Ohio State University and has over eight years in the field. She has also cared for pediatrics with medical challenges as their nurse and has trained citizens in the community cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Above all, Domanique Burke expresses the utmost passion in caring and providing safety for your child, while s/he grows through play, explore and discover the unknown, and exceed those age-appropriate developmental milestones.
